Arnold vs Lou

1975 Mr. Olympia. Was held in Pretoria (I think in the Skilpadsaal). Arnold was no stranger to Pretoria having trained with Reg Park at his gym in Prinsloo street before.
 
I wonder if Vernon would approve of the Terminator on his home turf?
 
I have a lot of respect for Lou Ferringo. He lost almost all of his hearing at a young age (one of the reasons he got hulk was because he could do the growls and moans really well).

And he has always been a very nice kind and humble man, not like ol leatherface (the other one in the opening post)
 
Wow - didn't know he was deaf or at least partly deaf - probably had alot to do with his character... I agree...

Those guys are WAY smaller than today's bodybuilders. They were pioneers for their day but they would feature nowhere in a modern pro bodybuilding contest. Today's top pros are hovering around 130kg on stage while Arnie's generation was just over 100kg. Today's guys carry almost a third more muscle. If you've ever seen Ronny Coleman or Dorian Yates in real life you'll know what I'm talking about.

An interesting fact is that Arnold and the now deceased Piet Koornhof were great friends from 1975 onwards.
Piet was Minister of Sport and Recreation at the time.
