Another 18mb patch :P

Why don't they allow you to download off the site?

I'm sure it's because using the p2p-based Blizzard downloader saves them a whole lot of money on bandwidth. For most people overseas it also can mean a faster download, with no queuing on the download server.

It's only us Telscum users that suffer.

meh... mine works just fine once I did some port-forwarding on my router^^

Yes, it does work fine once you have done that.... I wish people would stop complaining about the downloader when they have not set their router up properly.

The 5MB patches take about 1-2 minutes for me to download using the blizzard downloader.

If your router is not configured properly you will actually land up using the http download from blizzard's website (which is the reason it is soooooo slow).

Errr... I don't have a router to configure. If you have any tips for improving the routing through my little USB iBurst modem I'm all ears.

Fudzy, my comments were not directed at you.... it was a generalized comment.

Unfortunately I have never used iBurst, else I would possibly be able to help you configure it (I also don't know how they shape on iBurst).

Port Forwarding, please explain, I've seen it, dunno what to do about it.

MrJones,

there is documentation on what ports to forward/open and how to do it on certain (if not most) routers on the WoW US website... not sure of the address right now.

Port forwarding opens the routers ports to allow the Blizzard Downloader to go straight thru your internet and not get all caught up in firewalls and things like that... go take a look at http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm for a list of most routers and they will show u what u gotta do to forward some ports...

I have the new Telkom ADSL router and I had to call them and ask them to e-mail me the ADSL 5102G manual to see how to forward the ports because Its not on the list yet.
