I have been diagnosed with the above condition. My GP picked it up about 6 months ago so now I'm going to see a cardiologist in 2 weeks time.It does not affect my everyday life but he suggested I go to the specialist to see what form of irregular heartbeat. I have googled the whole lot and feel it shouldn't be a life threatening
condition but would like to know if any of the forumites know of or have had this condition.
My heart beats 2-3 times then skips a beat and carries on like that.I have taken my pulse after a walk up hill and it beats up to 20 times before it skips the beat.

My heart skips a beat sometimes too !

hmmm..... they will have to do ECG on you and listen for noises to see if there is a S3 present. Impossible to say without tests. Could be a fault node, could be a faulty valve could be anything.

Try not to google the sh*t out of the thing, just go with the cardiologist. If you google it too much you might see things that arent relevant and only end up worrying yourself

Thanks,I will be having an ECG to determine exactly what is broken or not broken:)

Most PV's are benign. I have had skipped heart beats for over 20 years and been to Cardiologists and all the other iologists you can name and it still happens.
Many people get them and don't even know. Reason being. Heart rate higher than 80 is fast enough for a missed beat to go undetected.
My heart rate is 60, so I can feel them. If it gets bad to about a skipped beat every 2'nd or 3'rd beat then it feels like a "flutter" in the chest and anxiety sets in like I am having a heart attack. This just worsens the episode and ruins one's quality of life.
You become antisocial and home bound during these episodes that can last for 2 to 3 months and then disappear for a year only to return again. My wife knows by now that the palps have returned when I become quiet and don't want to go out.
What does help is to put a rubber band on your wrist so when this starts, one normally immediately checks one's pulse automatically as a reflex action. Now just snap the band. Worrying about it makes it worse.

They might suggest to do an EPS but other than that I have no idea what they might do. Don't think you'll get a pacemaker if it's not affecting your daily life. Enjoy the treadmill. :D

The thing is I don't feel the "palpitation" if you want to call it that.I wouldn't have known about the missing beat had the GP not taken my blood pressure. My pulse is also around 60.So I'll hit the treadmill running and see what happens!!

You can have this surgically repaired by lazer. The skipped beat is not actually a skipped beat but feels like one.
It is a rogue beat from a node that occurs just after a normal beat like in 2 quickly that you don't feel. Then to adjust, the normal beats will pause a beat. This is what you feel as a missed beat. Even Tony Blair had this minor op to heal his.
I just live with mine.

If that is the case then you good. My wife and kids also have skipped beats when I check their pulse. They don't feel them.
