And, this morning the programming director for state television was executed?

Seriously though this bodes well from the new government.

now if our people can adopt some concepts instead of striking to prevent the law from investigating corrupt politicians then we going somewhere

So a movie showing an uprising in the UK would be a problem for China how? Aren't those people fed a diet of crap how the workers overthrew the emperor?

The film was never aired in China when it was first released. I'm not sure the government ever explicitly banned it I know they did make sure it didn't get shown.

The film carries a very clear anti-authoritarian message with people banding together to incite a popular uprising against a totalitarian government. The UK is just used as the backdrop. The film depicts a government cracking down on media freedom, imprisoning those that even mildly disagree with the regime using secret police forces, lies and deceit from the government. The parallels are obvious.

If you think that core message and the relation to their current situation is going to be missed by the average Chinese citizen then you have a very low opinion of them.

Already their social media systems and blogs are buzzing with quotes from that film that should fill that ruling party with dread. "People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people". Oh yea the government really wants that message out there in the minds of the average Chinese citizen.

Having seen the fine Chinese film contributions aired on the BBelt channel, I some how think the average chinaman isn't the world's most refined cinema goer.

Nice on china - though something tells me this was aired in error :p

Must be worth their while, else they wouldn't have done it.

It's a mildly entertaining movie, painfully exaggerated.

It's like if I was to shoot a film about a country called "freedom" where everyone rapes everyone else and a loner hero called "authoritarianism" saves the little girl and her teddy bear, introduces a system of law and order into the desolate outlaw town on the edge of nowhere, and wins the hearts and minds of everyone.
