Article: Woman survives python attack

I survived an attack by a piece of code once. Granted it was C++ and not python but still, it was a scary experience.
Yeah, C++ can do a lot more damage than python. Glad you made it, C++ is not for everyone.

Admitedly they are no common at that size, but no one owns it, it just sails under fences and over roads and goes where it wants to go.

The only pythons I have seen that size were pet Burmese or Reticulated pythons, That is why I thought it was someone's pet. Not too long ago there was a story of a snake in a pet shop, that escaped from it's enclosure and went into someone's flat above the pet shop, and ate a child.

Killed, not ate. and Reticulated Python, not SA rock python

I don't often visit rural areas. The few times I have, I have never seen a wild 4 meter python.

I wouldn't be scared of a 4 meter python ,meh easy to take one on even alone.

I grew up in a semi rural area close to JHB so had the best of both worlds I would say, when we were young we would go out and play in the veld, came across hundreds of snakes most harmless and if we were ever lucky enough to find a python we would catch it.What we didn't mess around with though was stuff like Rinkhals,Tree snakes and other Cobra species we found along the way,if we found them in the bush we knew to keep our distance and if we found them near houses we would relocate them cautiously with the bucket method(lol throw a bucket over it then slide the lid underneath and then go release it a couple kilometres away.)It always broke my heart to find that an ignorant maid or garden boy had killed one they found, usually they chop the head of with a spade.Waste of life and doing the rats a big favour.

We once came across a black mamba approaching us through the bush,we threw rocks at it and when it retreated into the water we ran for our lives!Thats one snake you don't mess with no matter how brave you are!:erm:

This story talks about a python that had an adult warthog in it, python was said to be 4,1m long and died due to getting stuck on a farm electric fence....

I recall an article a while ago about a ranger taking photos of a HUGE python swallowing a Wildebees. Will try and find it. Was also over 4 meters long.

Found it:

Reticulated python can grow much bigger.

AW HELL NAW

DETAILS!

How the hell did he get it off?

You have to pay for a Netwerk24 subscription to find that out. It's a really poor move that almost all of the afrikaans newspapers are now paid for subscription services. They like to dish out the clickbait too.

Have a spare room? There you go.

Come on man. That is just sadistic tbh. Poor snake trapped in a room. Imagine what a room must feel like for a snake of 6 meters

Edit: And this comes from a person who hates snakes and kill them on sight by own admission :o (me)
