Sorry. TLDR. So I didn't read the whole article.
I get the point though, but this is why it's named 'artificial' intelligence.
Humanity will always be smarter.
Terminator and iRobot won't be reality, even with quantum advancement.
The kill switch is initiated by humans, not the Matrix.
A robot is unhampered by the constraints of biology. It never sleeps or slows in the pursuit of a goal. Give it a goal and it will out-compete a human at it every time. It's no contest.
Human complexity is (likely/possibly) mostly just noise and adaptation in the pursuit of the goal of survival.
Think about which of the two would win if their goals were to ever be in conflict.
I say all this as "in theory". But just food for thought
I think it is more likely that some goal-pursuing code would proliferate via the Internet first. Killer robots would be a secondary, or perhaps unlikely, extension of it. How would we know an Internet born parasite isn't controlling us right now in order to survive? Fake news and all
