Ascendance is a semi hardcore 25 man South African horde raiding guild on Zenedar looking to go
hardcore in Cataclysm. Currently progression is 10/12 ICC 25 Hardmodes, including Putricide 25 heroic
down. We are one of the leading South African guilds in terms of ICC 25 progression and we are looking for
exceptional, dedicated applicants with ample experience in high end raiding. We will be sticking to the
25 man raiding format in Cataclysm.

We were previously Death by Tray of Karazhan but have moved to Zenedar for a larger player pool.

I will update this thread with our specific class requirements - but for now if you feel you have the
skills and ability to succeed in a high pressure raiding environment please feel free to e-mail me on
[email protected]. Please include a brief raiding history and an armoury link. We
will approach you to apply for a raiding spot if we are happy with the information provided.

Our website is www.ascendance-guild.co.za.

Good luck :)

few questions: how many nights per week are required for raiding? whats the server like regarding ques and lag? vent or ts? seriously considering doing a server change, but as Im alliance peeg dog, I would seriously have to think about going over to the dark side (Im a natural born fence-sitter :D)

Compulsory raid nights are currently Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for 25 mans. 10 man runs are
optional and normally happen on weekends. In terms of latency - we did a lot of research when looking for a
new home and Zenedar is hosted in Paris at the exchange. This is the optimal location for South Africans in terms
of latency - I raid on anywhere between 180 - 280 ms. The guild is 70% South African
and our European players have also reported good latencies.

The pvp que times are decent and we are in a strong battlegroup (blackout iirc). Zenedar is a pvp realm.

For interests sake there are 5 officers of which 4 including the GM are saffers. The world economy is vibrant - and
Zenedar is medium pop meaning no que times. There is a fairly strong player pool to recruit from as the server is
a top 25 server according to WoW progress.

*Edit* We have our own Vent server for raiding.

Hope this answers your questions and a few other people may have.

cheers for that, much appreciated :) will sit and think. Im on the blackout battlegroup myself on Azjol-Nerub. and so over the server. apparently A-N is the lone alliance heavy server in that battlegroup. mind, not that it matters as they are starting to merge battlegroups now. pvp server you say...

The horde to alliance ratio on the server is just over 2:1 in favour of horde. There are about
8500 horde to 4000 alliance so there are enough alliance to make it interesting but not enough
to make it frustrating :)

blackout strong... lol you clearly have not done your home work. I am on doomhammer, within that group. It sucks hairy donkey balls.

Rating battlegroups is rather subjective. What criteria do we use, our personal experiences? Do we look at amount of known pvpers? Amount of active teams? Highest ratings
in each bracket or the realm pool of a bg? I'm not really going to reply to any posts about pvp past this one. Blackout is a massive improvement over Vindication where we come from.
Having said that: we are a PvE guild focused purely on endgame raiding, and this is a recruitment thread.

The argument of which battlegroup is better became irrelevant last week in case you guys hadn't noticed.

Blizzard implemented region-wide battlegroup matching recently, so for battlegrounds (and I assume arena when the next season begins) you're matched against all other realms. The "battlegroups" are now much larger for random dungeon matching, I've personally noticed shorter queues for those.

You can read about it here: Region Wide Battlegroup Matching

The queues for BG's sometimes takes anywhere from 20-30mins (horde side), this has slightly been reduced with the BG merge, but still is long. I am purely talking battle grounds here. But that said good luck on your recruitment. Thou i am curious why did you change your guilds name?

Yeah, when I spoke of shorter queue times I was talking about the random dungeon matching.

We wanted something a bit more serious that reflected our aims for the new expansion ie something that acts as a statement of intent.

We considered going back to our TBC guild name when we were still on the US side - Affliction - but we had a change in management at the start of WotLK and felt we rather wanted to move on as a new entity rather than go back to our 'old' ways.

i always found it cool if the guild has some really cheesy name yet is one of the top guilds.
