A quick one, which of the technologies is becoming the most demand here in RSA? Who do you think gets paid the most ...?

EDIT: Also, which is more exciting?

Most demand imho: ASP.NET
Highest pay: J2EE (I'm not gonna bluff myself :p)
Most exciting imho: ASP.NET (partly because of the quick advancements in the framework and the wealth of available platforms to code for)

Add in easiest to learn: ASP.NET

J2EE.

Farlig, you such a fanboi. *sigh*

There was no sign of fanboyism in my post. I just stated the facts. Recruitment companies are having a very difficult time finding decent ASP.NET developers, because the demand is so high at the moment.

It's also a fact that ASP.NET is the easiest to learn. It's much easier than J2EE, and that's speaking from experience. Due to the "difficult" nature of J2EE, the pay is also higher.

Finally, ASP.NET is quite broad, in terms of mobile being added to the mix as well (while J2ME is something else entirely).

Give credit where credit is due sem! ;)

FAN BOY! FAN BOY!! FAN BOY!!!

Yeah i know about the demand... Thou it is'nt my favorite environment.

Ah - that shows your fanboy roots then for php and ruby? Just because its not your favorite "environment" does it give you the right to call me fanboyish about my chosen technology platform. I've had experience in classic ASP, ASP.NET, J2EE and php as well - I just choose to develop in .NET purely because its powerful, easy to use and great for RAD environments, without having to revert to open source CMS (or similar) packages.

Hehe, shame have i hit a nerve?

Like i said before i code in various languages. Front end C#, backend C/C++.

i am purely teasing you, no need to get all super defensive:P

J2EE.

I think your wrong there, iirc farlig leans towards c#(.net) more then any other language. and for him to say j2ee(java i presume) pays more shows that he is being honest and i don't get why you think he's being a fanboi:confused:

.Net

I have done quite a lot of classic ASP,PHP, some C++ but I am hooked to C# right now and yeah there is a lot of demand for good ASP.net/C# people right now..hoping to see salaries shoot thru..:D
