hi guys,

when i try to install assassins creed it always gets halfway through, then says something about a data recyclic redundant error and it says it can't read the data5.cab and data4.cab

i've tried to copy it to another folder but it says same thing (read error). it's an original directors cut edition.

Is it an original disc? Cyclic redundancy errors is normally from putting too much data on a disc .......

Very odd ..... I can't say I've heard of it happening to originals. Hopefully someone can help you out bru, coz I'm stumped :o:D

how do u rip games to the HDD, because i heard somewhere that this guy had the same problem and he ripped it to the HDD and it worked fine

I did that once when my disc was giving up the ghost .... I just used DvdDecrypter and mounted the ISO .....

Cyclic redundancy errors also occur when the disk is damaged or dirty. Try cleaning the disk.

If you just bought it go back to the shop and demand a swapout. You are entitled to an exchange for a faulty disc.

Yes making ISO out of the disk almost work every time. All you then need is the original in the drive. Well that is how I got Deus Ex INv to work.
But like Stefan9 said take it back.
