Asset and User tracking tool

Hi,

Our organisation has hundreds of computers scattered across the country and in Africa as well. In addition, we have staff at these locations changing very often. We require a tool that will indicate the whereabouts of these computers and peripherals attache and prompt on a schedule to request the user to capture their details. On an annual basis we struggle to locate to find assets and who is actually using them and if it is in fact at missing/stolen.

All of these computers run Windows 7 as a min and have a reliable source of public internet.

Thanks but most of these computers dont logon to a domain and are a simple workstation setup. That is why i require a prompt on that local profile to capture their information.

I would try open audit.. does not rely on a domain.. you just need to script to run on the users machine and it will capture a crap ton of information from that machine.. send the script to all users and just have them run it and no further intervention from them is needed.. running the script on a scheduled task is advised though, so if you can script that process to have it execute on boot you can have the users run that as well.. as long as the machines can access the open audit server you should be good..
