Clarotech Consulting is looking for a Linux Support Engineer with 4 - 5 years’ experience working with various Linux technologies to join our Asterisk support team.
The candidate does not necessarily need to be an expert in each of the technologies, but needs a thorough understanding of the installation, maintenance and design of new and existing solutions. The candidate should be comfortable installing and maintaining a wide range of equipment including, but not limited to, workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, using various flavours of Linux / UNIX He or she will be responsible for interacting with our clients on numerous projects.
Work will predominately be around Asterisk based telephony systems. We currently have 6 Digium Certified Asterisk Professionals (dCAP) so if you have a good Linux foundation there is ample opportunity for you to skill up on Asterisk.
Requirements:
• 4-5 years’ experience working with various Linux technologies.
• Driver’s license and own transport
The following knowledge and/or experience will be an advantage to the candidate, but is not a requirement:
• Knowledge of Computer Hardware (A+/N+ level)
• Knowledge of Local and Wide Area Networking (TCP/IP)
• Knowledge of Linux / FreeBSD
• Knowledge of Open Source software such as: Asterisk, sendmail, apache, ipfw, pf, iptables, mysql, php
• Knowledge of Asterisk or VoIP technologies: FreePBX, QueueMetrics, Vicidial, SIP
• Experience in Troubleshooting IT problems
• Experience working with customers
• Experience with assembling Server hardware
