Here’s your chance to own Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie
The Honey Badger is already selling his V12-engined Valkyrie. One careful owner etc etc
Back when he was working for an energy drink company, one of Daniel Ricciardo’s bosses and many of his colleagues helped to design a car.
It would seem that Daniel rather liked the look of that car, so he put his name down on the list to get one. He then left the company and spent four years with rivals, but he returned just in time to take delivery in 2023.
Of course, we’re talking about the supremely bonkers Aston Martin Valkyrie, which was born from the mind of Adrian Newey and jointly developed by Aston and Red Bull Racing. In 2018, Danny Ric told TG that he had paid his deposit, but after covering just under 100 miles it’s already heading to auction.
Yep, Ricciardo is selling up. His hardtopped Valkyrie will cross the block at Broad Arrow Auctions’ upcoming Zoute Concours Auction in October, with an estimate of between £2m and £2.4m. If it only sells at the lower end of that guess, those 100 miles could have cost The Honey Badger around £1m given the Valkyrie’s £2.5m plus tax price tag when new. Yikes.

Amalgam Collection Unveils 1:8-Scale Aston Martin Valkyrie
Aston Martin has partnered with Amalgam Collection to create a limited-edition 1:8-scale replica of the Valkyrie hypercar.
In partnership with Aston Martin, Amalgam Collection has unveiled a 1:8-scale Valkyrie. Available in coupé and Spider forms, each limited to just 199 examples, the UK company’s latest collectable model car was created in close collaboration with Aston Martin’s design and engineering departments. According to the firm, it took over 3 000 hours to develop this scale model. In addition, it takes over 300 hours to assemble each example.
As standard, each model’s exterior is dressed in Podium Green, while the interior is finished in black. However, for collectors seeking even more exclusivity, a Bespoke Edition will also be available. With the latter, owners can specify the 1:8-scale replica to resemble their real-life Valkyrie, or tailor it to their taste.
The models are built using the original computer-aided designs (CAD), paint codes and material specifications used by Aston Martin. The result is a model that mirrors the meticulous detail and masterful craftsmanship invested into the creation of the real-life Valkyrie.

Anyway, for the full ‘F1 team principal on the pitwall’ vibe, the Valkyrie comes equipped with a set of purposeful motorsport cans, complete with mouthpiece and trailing cables. For the full ‘no, it’s honestly fine in here’ vibe the AMG One has a pair of surreptitious Sennheiser noise cancelling in-ear buds. They’re engraved with the owner’s name. These two facts tell you a lot about each car.
That they’re terrifyingly noisy, mainly. And they genuinely are. You’ll have heard this about the Valk already, that while those outside enjoy pure red blooded V12 symphony, those inside endure pure white noise V12 screech. But that the AMG One suffers similarly comes as a shock.
Did Merc not have enough time to sort that out? Six years it took the One to make it into production, after it was first announced as the Project One in September 2017. Or is it that simply in keeping with the spirit of the car? We’ll find out.
