Is there an such a thing as an eyepiece camera?

I do know that many people attach various cameras to telescopes, and some people mount certain model webcams to the eyepiece, etc

Was wondering if you actually get a specific unit that is a camera that actually plugs into the eyepiece socket, that plugs into a laptop via USB, that one could actually see what one want to see and photo on the laptop screen.

Is something like this possible?

I'm sure there is such a beast (a webcam might actually work) but for most DSLRs sold in the last several years, you can plug it in via USB and use the manufacturer's software to see the image on-screen.
