Hi guys,

So I have a N17U in an office environment. All of a sudden it kicked all devices from its WiFi network.

The wireless is visible but when you try and connect it just tells you the password is incorrect or there is an authentication issue. I've tried changing the password - and then connect using the new password also to no success.

Rebooted the modem, turn the WiFi radio on and off...nothing.

The only thing left to do in my mind is to do a factory reset, but that'll have to wait till after work.

Does anyone have other suggestions?

No idea what transpired the last few seconds/minutes before it went berserk? Have you checked the logs for anything suspicious - let's hope an intruder didn't somehow get onto the LAN.

Try updating the firmware before doing a full factory reset. It's pretty easy to do on these models and will retain all your settings.

We had some DSL issues and I phoned Telkom for a port reset and rebooted the router using the 'reboot' function on its settings page.

The modem checks for updates every time you log in. It is up to date :(

Roll back firmware maybe?? Damn that sucks. Last time this happened to me the unit was damaged and kept kicking all wifi connections before they could re-attach. Had to chuck the unit because it wasn't worth the troubleshooting time.

So I just completed a factory reset during lunchtime. And it is still doing the same thing. I think I will have to get into touch with the reseller.

The bad news is, is that we don't have a spare modem that supports VDSL...
