I have an xbox controller with the wireless adapter for PC that I use on my Transformer (works nicely with things like Nintendo emulators) but for some reason, the Transformer has to be on a wifi network with working internet, otherwise as soon as I plug in the usb adapter the Transformer crashes & reboots and doesn't start up until I've unplugged it? weird, wonder if this might get fixed in an update?

1. The transformer cant charge whilst off, it always switches on automatically. But maybe you should let it charge for 8hours and not play with it.

I have no idea why Asus chose to power on the device as you plug in the charger.

I have read that it's better to charge lithium batteries while the device is off.

I just plug in the charger while the Transformer is on then turn it off. It won't then switch itself back on :)

Its just firm but when the tablet is on it feels perfect.

As for the USB covers, I broke mine off. They way to much trouble to try and open.

rofl, these usb covers annoyed me as well, it sucks when you need more than one hand to use a usb outlet, well you can use one hand but it takes some experience and skill, maybe after some use the flaps wont relentlessly shut as soon as you open them.

Does anyone know if DSTV plans to support the Transformer in the near future?

Got a Drifter today only to find that the only Android devices it support is Samsung. Cannot believe DSTV is so short sighted to no support a popular tablet like the TF. From what I understand the quality of the Android application is also not up to standard...

No I have a laptop at work and PC at home but I really got it for the mobility of the tablet...haven't even bothered trying it on those devices.

Has anyone tried returning their Drifters? Any issues?

Just need to say big up to Elimentals!

Thx for all your help in the Android community... You always post clear answers and facts, links, screenies etc. obviously taking up a lot of your time.

I for one, appreciate it!

Can I get a +1 ;)

+1

Always very helpful and knowledgeable!

1. 1st charge is mentioned in the book to plug it in and go for 8 hours.

2. If you want something thats simular to iTunes go look at http://global.mobileaction.com/download/android.jsp
you install https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mobileaction.AmAgent on your android device then it allows you to remotely sync and back up your device.

I must admit I have not tried it on a Tablet but should be the same, I use it to sync my phone all the time.

It allows you to Browse the device file system as well as backing up, Contacts, messages, applications, music and Photo's

3. depends on the update you get both firmware updates and OS updates Example last update included keyboard firmware update with the OS updates.

thanks, sync manager seems as if it would work. Much appreciated,

Not, sorry.... read 2 posts later :(

The client does not install from the market, but if you get the apk somewhere else it installs and run's.

go figure.

I having difficulty docking my keyboard. Is it supposed to be easy? Also scared I'm gonna damage the pins.

LOL still?

Dude, relax, its not going to fall apart if you look at it funny. I normally dont even look to see if the pins match up when I dock, just check that its more or less centrals and then apply light force, if it clips I know its aligned.

lol...I'm like a first time mom with my tablet.
Which position is the latch on the keyboard supposed to be when you insert the tablet- to the right I assume

Just updated.
I hope this solves my wifi issues.

Hi,

Quick question. Can you use the 3G eee-Pad to make phone calls? And what is the quality like?

Any advice... want to watch HD videos on the eee pad but having either sound issues or dropped frames. Used Dice player, mx video player, and mobo player. Videos are 720p in mkv format. Should i maybe convert to mp4 or avi? Also which converter is good

I normally convert my media to mkv using http://handbrake.fr/ and keeping the default settings, only thing I change is the file size, to 700 Meg, I have yet to come across any problems doing this.

I must admit I convert mostly for space reasons and find the quality more than enough.

You can also maybe try installing VLC? I must admit I have not done this yet but probably plan in doing so in the near future just for interest sake.

Thanks for the reply... size is no issue for me but i like to keep things under 4gb. Ideally i dont want to convert. I just want to download the stuff and copy to my transformer... 720p is perfect 1080 is a waste... i like to enjoy my movies/series visually too...
