ASUS Eee Pad transformer

yay - got my update fix this morning :)

Re the ASUS cable - my usb connector's plastic is slightly cracked so I investigated a replacement, LetMeRepair will get one for you - prices below as per their e-mail (be warned their contact methods leave something to be desired....):

Adaptor – R 270.00 Excl vat
USB Cable – R 114.00 Excl vat
Plug – R 101.00 Excl vat

A little steep in my book...

Updated to the new 'fix' version - and now start to receive some media hing stopped responding.
What BS!!

Is there a way to reformat the device?
Damnit.

What's with the Infinity having only Dual core processor?

I hope the infinity can play ANY video at ANY resolution/bitrate

Think I might go for the prime instead, lower resolution, quadcore cpu, wayy higher benchmarks surely?

Although this gives me a rager:
HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps; LTE, 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL

I think it has to do with the lack of 3G support on the Tegra 3 CPU's

The WiFi only units will still have the Tegra quad core cpu's

Asus had this problem with the Transformer Prime: the Tegra 3 chip does not support 3G/HSDPA/LTE
This is why you have the choice of an Infinity with Tegra quad core and no cellular internet,
or the Krait dual core chip with cellular data.

Or get iPad 3 and have both quad core AND cellular data

So picked up the device from Expansys today - I thought the turnaround time (8 days) was quite decent - even threw in a free power adaptor

So where do I start - other than this thread are there any decent info sources on apps, etc that i can start loading onto the Transformer? A primer of sorts for the Transformer and Android Honeycomb (don't want to upgrade to ICS yet)

This also might seem like a silly question but do i need to install and antivirus software on it?

I would recommend you update it to at least 3.2.1 if its on 3 or 3.1 you can do this with the OTA update in the setting as it will need to be on 3.2.1 before it can update to 4.0.3

Places to start, http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/397329-Android-useful-app-catalogue expanded from my initial blog post covering this exact issue http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/entry.php/1739-New-to-Android-(What-apps-to-look-at)

Also look at

Welcome to da Android world.

I bought a USB3.0 male/female extender to lengthen my charging cbale but it won't charge. Any ideas why?
