ASUS Eee Pad transformer

yes dude small world, u got a desire s too? and we both got tf101's
glad the root went well:)
you going to try a custom rom? you wont receive ota's as far as i know
whats your reason to root?
if you going to try a custom rom, try android revolution and let me know how it is.the one thats based on .24
Done Rooting with the above thread, very simple. Verified root access.

I needed to install adb-drivers manually. Other than that it went without a snag.

Time will tell if I am still able to do OTA.

Yes I have a Desire S (Unrooted, stock waiting for ICS) as a backup phone...

I wont go custom just yet, when OTA updates dry-up, Ill reconsider.

Many reasons for wanting to root. Some are: Titanium backup, the ability to reboot, want to get my usb 3G modem working (looks like ill have to go custom rom for this), firewall, game guardian (that Elimentals talked about in another thread), root explorer, the ability to install apps on my SD card (still need to look into this to see if it is possible on the TF101).

im also waiting for ics for desire s, i see the chinese ota surfaced, hoping for wwe one soon
yes to get the modem working you going to need to go custom rom
even if you go custom rom, when ota's come out,the devs will update their roms, so dont stress about that
why would you need to install app to sd? tf101 has got alot internal memory

I see the 3G pad 300 version of the transformer is available at nivo, think it was over 6k

Cool thanks, will keep in mind when I do start flashing custom ROMs...
Edit: I see I have a B60 SN, does this matter?

I am sooooooo tempted, its not even funny:

Motorola Xoom, ASUS Transformer, Transformer Prime Get CyanogenMod 10 Test/Preview Builds

With the level of anticipation surrounding Jelly Bean and CyanogenMod 10, pretty much any news of a working build is good news. Today, test/preview builds of CM10 have surfaced for Motorola's Xoom as well as the ASUS Transformer and Transformer Prime (tf101 and 201).

Of course, since these are preview builds, they aren't perfectly stable. It's also worth noting that unofficial builds carry no guarantee of support or update.

That being said, the Transformer builds are surprisingly functional with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, sound, camera, video acceleration, some dock functionality, and most sensors functional. GPS and light sensor functionality isn't quite there yet, but most of the device's critical functionality is present. Here's a quick video of the build in action.

The Xoom builds, on the other hand, are not quite as complete. In a post to Google+, Steady Hawkin notes that "a lot of the features and functions are still very much [a work in progress]." Hawkin also notes, though, that he has personally been using the builds as a daily driver, meaning they may just be worth checking out.

To get a hold of an early CM10 build for your device, just hit the appropriate link below.

Hey.

After keeping up with the latest happenings in the world of the Samsung Galaxy S in terms of development, roms, etc., I realised yesterday that I've kept my TF101 completely stock and dont even know what roms are available for it. I checked out the XDA development section for the device so I've got a decent idea of what the popular roms are. Just wanted to know the mybb peeps opinions on whats good to flash on the transformer :) . I dont want the bleeding edge, but rather sometghing stable with everything working.
