ASUS Eee Pad transformer

How many versions are there of the Transformer now? Like 3? Im just gonna wait for proper Windows 8 tablets.

Can I be the 1st that say this post makes no sense?

I do not get how the promise of future tech prevents you from buying something now, even worse is the fact that the said tech has not been proven yet. Yes I have an iPad, and yes I have an Eee Pad as well and you know what I will most probably also end up buying a Surface as well I do not see how owning my transformer prevents me in doing so, and even better in the time you wait I can already experience it.

I bought Splashtop Win8 and can already experience Windows 8 Touch interface at its full glory, in fact I can do so for cheaper and on more powerful hardware than Surface can ever muster.

Surface Intel version = $999
Surface Arm Version = $599
Eee Pad + Splashtop = $360+$10

See where I am going with this?

As for how many versions there are, it makes no difference as no one is forcing you to buy everyone that leaves the factory floor, my TF101 is just as capable as the latest Prime in my daily tasks, Yes it does not look as good but it still ticks and has the latest version of Android (4.1 Thanx to CM10)

TL;DR Fail post is fail.

I bought it from Landmark computers in CT.

It cracked while I was travelling. Strange thing, it was closed with the keyboard, inside a protective sleeve inside my laptop bag and still cracked. What more can you do hey??

It is not so bad and I can still use the tablet but a little piece of me dies each time I see it.

Probably will end up costing close to a Nexus7 to repair it though.

Aaah Sounds like it fell on the side then, well either that or heat can also do it. You probably right about cost = same as a Nexus 7.

If you bought it in SA then best is to find a ASUS registered repair shop in your area? Unless you go for a cheaper route and order the glass and DIY it. With Vids like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JG9gEYRALtU to guide you

Just received my Infinity TF700T 64GB with the Full HD IPS screen

Busy setting it up, but it looks pretty cool.

Haven't got the keyboard yet, should receive that in a few days.

Hmm, I bought a 64GB microSDXC card to use in the TF700T, but I cannot get it to work.

However, the same card does work in my much older Motorola Xoom.

I did try a number of different formats on the card.

Hey guys, have you had any success with stable Jelly bean builds around or should one wait a bit still?

Just installed the latest CM10 nightly, very smooth.

Ran into a slight hicup with Google apps, I downloaded the gapps zip file but then had no file manager or play store to put the gapps on the sdcard.

Luckily they ship it with the terminal and I managed to copy the gapps to sdcard via php code :)

It appears CWM needs the zip to be on the sdcard.

the only other problem is that I wiped my tf so lost my titanium backup, forgot to copy that to the sd card :D

Ah well always nice to start fresh every now and then.

I suppose I could restore the CWM backup and then recreate the titanium backup but I probably wont go through all that.

thats good news
have you tried raymans cm10 b4? apparently more stable and better than the official cm10 nighlties

The pro version of titanium backup can restore from the CWM backup right?

I installed Revolution HD recently, pretty happy with it. I noticed that Titanium backup does not backup mnt/sdcard/android/data (where most of the large game data files are stored :( )

I am running b4. no problems so far! and as you know also got drifta working so thats a big bonus for me.

Anyone know where i can find screen gaurd for the tf101 in Cape Town?

Well the screen is a popular size so shops like look & listen might have, even if its for a different tab, it might still fit the tf101 if it's 10". Last resort, online shops will definitely have them.
