3dmark11, Keen to see what scores you get with your PC... I get P6080 with one with 2 you should be styling.

Reckon we need a 3Dmark11 score thread... every forum needs one.

Thanks guys'

I received only one GTX580 have to wait until 15thDecember for another one - or maybe next year
I'll load the scores asap when the rig is complete :P

I'm looking maybe at 3 ENGTX580 cards :)

nah, I like to spoil myself...

I'm with Pada on this one. You don't need more than one, but if you really wanted to spoil yourself you would have bought one now and when games needed more than one you could have bought another and saved yourself a lot of money.

Only reason I can see for having 3 is if you were driving 3 30" displays at 2560x1600.

Guess this is a case of.

Seriously you guys can be quite jealous at times.

If the guy has spare money to spend on his "dream rig" why not let him spend it??

No. People must always buy exactly what they need, never anything more. No big houses, no fast cars, no flashy clothes. And if you then have oodles of cash left over, well then unlucky. You're not allowed to enjoy any extra money you may have.
/end sarcastic rant

Exactly. I never understand people who always work harder to get somewhere in life. We should all drive City Golfs and we should all live in 1 bedroom houses. :-/.

I say go wild Nokkie. 6Gb of memory seems a little low. Get 24Gb :D :D.

It's sad that we are jealous on someone that wants to run 3x GTX 580, when a single Quadro FX5800 costs considerably more (R36k+) and I'd reckon that quite a few people in SA have one :)

I really have no issue with benchmarking okes who have that kind of hardware, but I don't see a point in having it if you're just a regular gamer since you will never be able to make good use of it.
I did go slightly overboard myself, by getting 2x GTX 460's, but with anything less than that I won't get 100 FPS flat in my games :D

If I had the cash to spoil myself silly, I would rather spend it on a SSD RAID configuration + a few ultra high resolution (2560x1600) IPS panels.

hear hear... haters gon' hate. But yes you should definitely invest in 3 x 3D monitors.

Far from it actually. I just find it quite silly. Is 15% additional gaming performance worth a 50% price increase?(Over the GTX 570) Now he wants to get not 1 or 2 but 3 GTX 580's?

But like you said, it's his money. He can do with it what he wants. Does make for a nice signature.

@Nokkie - If you really are going to get 3 GTX 580's for the love of God get something for them to drive. 3x 30" displays or maybe 3 x 24" 3D Vision ready displays so you can have 3D gaming in surround.(Hope you don't get monster head aches from 3D like I do ;) )

thanks for understanding guys :P its not that I want to out pace anyone its just like - the last time I had a good pc was about 6years ago and in the meanwile I played on a PS3 so recently things are very good e.g finance and stuff. So I decided to go all out for once...

and in anycase we life only once - the way I see it...
I know that people have different options and such and I am aware of their situations as I were there myself...

but ya...

Thanks for understanding... ( thanks for the tips on the LCDs 3 sounds nice :) )

Can I ask what you are paying for one of the GTX 580's?

Also something I would consider like was mentioned is upping your ram to 12GB or maybe even more. I am not sure about this but I heard if you are around 12GB of ram you can basically turn off the windows pagefile completely so it speeds up the OS a bit.

I bought one from Sybaritic.co.za for R6645.00

Thanks again for the tip :)
