Asus H110M-K boot from DVD-ROM?

Ok so how the hell do you get this MB to boot from the sata connected dvd-rom?

It sees the drive in the uefi bios and it's a listed option in the boot menu but selecting it does nothing, the drive does not even spin up to read the disc and just goes back to the bios setup screen.

I saw this https://www.all4os.com/windows/disable-asus-motherboards-uefi-secure-boot.html but I don't have that option listed to delete the secure boot keys.

Edit: I managed to disable secure boot by deleting the PK key but that does not help.

Switch to legacy, i.e. BIOS, instead of UEFI and see if that works or just save yourself the headaches and use USB.
 
I gave up and created a bootable flash disk with rufus.

I have the same issue with my msi mb where I can't boot from the dvd-rom.

Legacy does not work either. I booted some linux live usb stick which it sees as uefi devices in the boot menu and those work, the dvd-rom never shows as a uefi device just a normal one. Yeah I went the rufus route to create a usb stick. My uefi msi mb has exactly the same issue, never figured it out.

I think we have the same MSI motherboard, but I haven't used a DVD to install anything in years, especially if you use a USB 3.0 drive it takes a couple of minutes and you are done before you know it.
 
Had a ASUS-H11M-K go out last week Friday, no issue with booting with the DVD-ROM, perhaps your DVD-ROM do not want to play along?
 
I'm now getting a missing cd/dvd drive device driver issue during install, I'm about to break stuff.

dvd-rom is fine, it was working on the old pc and I used it on my own pc to burn the dvd as I don't have one.
 
Just an update, no amount of messing around with the bios would allow me to boot from the dvd-rom. Only thing I could boot from was a uefi enabled usb stick.
That was not the end of my problems as the Win 7 installer kept biatching about "missing cd/dvd drive device driver" and no way to get around that.

I had to manually add the drivers to the boot.wim file.

I still think you doing something wrong, no way ASUS QC will let this slide, im sure there is a bug in BIOS.
