Asus Maximus X Hero Network Issue

Hi Gents,

Having a strange issue with the NIC on my Mobo.

It wont go above 100MB.

When I switch to 1GB on the properties of the NIC it just says cable disconnected.

Have updated drivers, uninstalled etc.

Any ideas?

It's possible that the network cable you are using has a faulty strand or the RJ45 plug is simply not crimped properly. Change out your cable. This is by far the most common cause for your problem. Also make sure that wherever you are connecting to (other end of the cable) has a gb interface. Other than that, there should be no reason why you are not getting gb speeds.
