Asus Rog Ally

Yeah it’s not going to be cheap :(

Even the steam decks are expensive and for me that’s old tech, I’m dreading the price for newer tech.
Steam decks were expensive cause they were never officially brought here

Yeah, look I reckon this thing will be minimum 20K,
I predict at least 20k yes. For that price I would expect it to have at least 32gb RAM not 24gb. - My only "issue" with this.

Waiting on local pricing before I budge. Else my 2nd choice is the MSI's Claw AI8+, it's at R19k.

Yeah and neither = Officially supported.

One just has a license.

Sony SA will just laugh at you if you take your PlayStation to them for a warranty claim. You have to take it to PartServe who is contracted by Koodoo (Old SK) to fix/replace.

I may be wrong but it's the case that Sony is made up of different divisions. It's like taking your Sony TV to Sony BMG Music. In SA it may be that only some parts of Sony work here as Sony and other parts use third parties. However if you took your PS to say the US or Japan and visited Sony Playstation there, they'd honour your machine if it was purchased via PartServe but may perhaps give you the cold shoulder if you got it from say OneDayOnly which often has parallel imports.

Sony has a website with their official resellers on it.

It's actually the opposite.

EG from personal exp: Sony NZ honored a PS3 repair bought in SA, yet Partserv refused a warranty claim of a PS5 bought in NZ.
Oh and the official Dist agent is Koodoo (Old Ster Kinekor), Partserv is just the 3rd party SK contracted to honor their claims.

Based on your story it confirms what I suspected. Sony NZ recognised that the PS3 was official yet without a SONY SA selling those while PartServ or Ster Kinekor did not reciprocate because they're maybe breaching the rules or maybe they have limited liability over such. Sony lists dealers which are in their network on their website. Those are Sony endorsed shops. Our guys here are a little daft or cheap.

I know I sound like a broke record here but bazzite bazzite bazzite!

Doesn’t that windows gaming mode only work with game pass only ?

If it had support for other platforms then maybe yes but for now vensters11 still has a loooooong way to catch up.

With my very limited testing, it works with all storefronts and games from said storefront. Cuts out about 2GB on the ram side since it doesn't load explorer or the desktop. How that affects games - well I guess people will test it out. I understand alternatives, but fortnite doesn't work on Bazzite unfortunately, so for that atleast will be a dual boot situation
