Where can I get my Asus Router RT-AX82U repaired? Asus says they don't have a direct repair center in South Africa. PC Link, where I purchased it from has closed down. Asus looked up the serial number and mentioned Rectron. Called Rectron and they say they don't do it. The service centers on Asus website says Pinnacle Micro and they mentioned they only do laptop repairs. Should I take it to some random service PC shop? Don't think I will be purchasing Asus products again.

I have never seen anyone repairing any brand of router locally. Not isolated to ASUS.

The usual process is if still under warranty most distributors will swap it out for a new one if it's truly a hardware issue.

If out of warranty. Chuck it away and buy a new one as mentioned. Unless you can find an electronics geek who is willing
to give it a try it.

@SauRoNZA The internet component is messed. The WLAN port lights are on (all other lights are fine) but still doesn't connect. After I factory reset, the Wifi stopped working. Can't see the SSID. So WLAN and Wifi messed.

@dualmeister I contacted Asus and they extended my warranty (through ADP). Now PC Link is closed down so I can't even get a swap out.

Thanks guys. Looks like I have to chuck it away. Lasted me 3 years on the dot (not cool for the price).

Did you try to reload the firmware?

Reload firmware and factory reset. Any hardware damage is not doing to be viable to repair. Mostly custom chips on the PCB and without manufacturers providing schematics it's going to take many hours to repair (if even possible)

Going to be far cheaper to replace. That is the world we live in :(

Probably too late, but open it up and check that you don't maybe have ants all over the thing.

Clean it up with some rubbing alcohol and/or compressed air if you have....failing that use a vacuum cleaner.

Might just have some luck.
