Yes, they did it, a round LCD on a phone. And the best part is that it costs $2000 - which will result in R21 000+ should it become available locally, plus, it is a Motorola !

So then, that makes things interesting, iPhone or 5800 or Aura ? I know which one I will take and it won't cost the price of a used car.

That's a square screen in a round enclosure (96 x 64 pixels, 3 lines + prompts) on the V70. This new moto actually has the screen measured at 480 pixels in radius. Pretty new and weird way of thinking of it....

But at R21000 I am not fully convinced by it....

Perhaps yes - but still, a round LCD - that is pretty unique. I guess the next big thing would be holographic display. Still, how could anyone over look round screens.... So pointless, yet so lovable. I can't stop looking at its... erm... shape ?

1) It is not a phone, not a super model in a swimsuit, hence it does not matter how it looks. If you want to see non-fugly stuff go to the art gallery or something.
2) It is actually pretty good looking from an artistic point of view. You probably have your wires cross, most likely it start when you look in the mirror and go "Hey good lookin'"

I would not say that. They are just sheep that follow each other and buy the exact same make and model of phone.

This phone is much more elegant than any other phone even before you switch it on and despite the fact that it is not a Nokia. That says a lot.

Anyone remember the Kick-Slide phone Z8? It could bend... Was awesome, but the software was buggy as hell, think it was removed from SA and UK market because of it... Now the Z10, thats an awesome phone...
