Good day

I would like to tell you why I can't offer Neotel to any of my clients!

I do lots of remote support for my clients - Your uncapped service is not an option for remote support - it just does not have the upload speeds needed.

Your NeoFlex option would solve this problem but the cost to do support now is very high! I can use ADSL local only Bandwidth which is very cheap! I thought your new service would be an option which is now clearly is not!

I ask that you re look at your offering & have different cap pricing as well as uncapped!

Thank you for reading this

lets hope you do hear us?

I doubt they will respond. I left them a message on their website with a simple questions yesterday morning. Up to now no answer. They clearly are not interested in the small companies/private users

you are going to have more luck getting milk out of a chicken... they are useless.

Yes they do, but only if they are on the other side of the road.

OK, thanks for clearing that up. Now I realise how lucky I am and the the grass really is greener on my side of the road :) Thank you for making me realise this!

If they had the neoflex as uncapped we wouldve gotten it , but now they are capped just like telkom

We are certainly aware of the level of interest in NeoFlex with different caps, and we have acknowledged publically that we're considering these.

With the type of support you are providing, what size of cap would work? How much larger than 15GB? Over a period, how does our 8c per MB out-of-bundle compare with what you currently use? It's obviously best to have a cap that is higher than the typical monthly usage, which keeps the per MB rate below the out-of-bundle rate, and makes the monthly amount predictable.

It's good to see that Neotel is looking into the capping issue, but is anything being done with regards to speeds. Neotel Prime has a theoretical max of 2.4Mbps and Neoflex has 3.6Mbps, but Neotel only guarantees 300 - 700kbps. In my area I have seen speeds steadily drop steadily from about 1.7Mbps to my current average of 500kbps as my tower has become more congested. Couple this with the increased latency (currently over 2000ms when pinging www.google.co.uk) and you have to wonder if Neotel has the bandwidth infrastructure to service their customers.

Ideally yes. But some of the folks here might disagree with the predictable portion of your statement.

We aim to keep up the rate of rollout of new sites, not only to grow coverage, but also to provide sufficient capacity in high growth areas. Our promised speeds are based on a loaded network, and our intention is to add capacity to ensure we meet these.

The international latency issue is more puzzling, since our core network and international links have more than sufficient capacity and add little to the latency. Access latency may rise with high activity on the uplink, but 2000ms sounds very high, unless it was a temporary routing issue at some other point in the Internet.

The ping issue is intermittent, but it is frequent. For every 30 - 40 pings I send, at least 1 will time out and at least 2 will have latencies over 1200ms. I don't think the problem is the network in general, just my tower.

Calling the technical support is useless. I already have a trouble ticket, but it took ages to get the guy to understand the importence of latency. I'll be surprised if any investigating is done.

Thank you for the reply - alot of my work is based on Cisco Equipment & I use my internet connection to monitor these networks as well as remote access in - I would say 30GB would be enough for me to do the required remote access work & Monitoring I need.

I also do however need to download software which would include patches & updates. as I am sure you are aware these are not always small files as most of the software is US based.

I am confused how this is not offered with uncapped if it is for the corporate market - home users should have less of a need for data then a corporate?

I have asked the question of how much it would cost me to download 150GB - 200GB per month with your out of rate costs?

Thanks again for the reply

When you can offer high caps at acceptable prices in 1st World Countries then we ca talk business. Its no use offering different packages that will sill screw the consumer, for that we have Telkom.

Come out with an offer and guarantee the speeds that we experience initially and once again we can talk business and Neotel can expand at a faster rate then currently is.

Why not offer unlimited on NeoFlex? Our problem was that the uncapped offerings you provide include voice and most of us do not require voice so forget voice and offer data only but at decent prices, maintain the speeds at all times, educate the Customer Care Centre in what latency and pings are, train your technicians properly, forget Telkom's prices and the sky will be the limit, scrap 24 months contracts they don't work.

I once again repeat myself "PLEASE DO NOT SIGN ANY SORT OF CONTRACT WITH NEOTEL, WHAT THEY OFFER IS JUST TO CATCH THE NEXT SUCKER"
