Attempted kidnapping at Clearwater mall?

Anyone hear about the attempted kidnapping at Clearwater Mall (Gauteng). A 4 year old girl.

"Attempted kidnapping just took place at Clearwater mall. 4 yr old little girl was abducted from play area outside house of coffees. Centre was shut down and little girl was found in boys bathroom with a shaved head in boy's clothes and drugged. Parents pls be vigilant and share as far and wide as u can."

Can't find any related stories and am not sure how true it is. Sorry for the lack of details. I just shop there regularly and this is the first time I've heard anything happen like this.

If it is true, very scary.

Yeah, just found this on Clearwater's facebook page:

"Clearwater Mall Hi everyone thank you for your concern and alerting us about this vicious campaign. We assure you it is not true. This sms has been going around for some time now each time with a different mall. We have no idea who started it but we have also instructed our security team to be extra vigilant and we hope that parents will also keep an extra careful watch on their kids no matter where they go. We assure you that we will always keep the safety of our shoppers (no matter how big or small they are) and tenants our number one priority."

The "share as far and wide as u can" always raises eyebrows about authenticity. Besides that, I'm pretty sure if this was the case, they would be long gone before you could convince a mall to "shut down"

Its a hoax, same story gets broadcast every year at different mall - some people have a sick sense of humor and the sheeple just forward becuase it takes too many braincells to check if its real or a cry wolf

I saw a similar mail a few weeks ago about Blue Route Mall.
It's incredible how gullible people are when they read the last line - "Send to everyone in your address book"

Yeah, that should set off alarm bells, to NOT forward the message, and check the validity thereof. Calling people out on their gullibility is a bit of a hit-and-miss affair, some of them actually learn something, while others think you are insulting their intelligence.... :erm:

I understand the hate for hoax email/post etc, but this is one warning that should be posted every where in one form or another.

I can't get over how parents just let there kids run around in malls, never mind anywhere else unsupervised. If those parents could read this, reality might just set in...

Don't agree with that, all spreading false stories around, makes the mall look bad for a fake reason, and give the originator of the hoax some sick satisfaction
mean as this sounds, if you cant just keep an eye n your kids, and know well enough to teach what to do or where to meet when separated maybe you really should not have any kids!

When I see a kid running around a mall there is a parent watching it or close to it. If there is not a parent then the kid is old enough to look after itself. Im not sure where you go shopping but I dont think Ive ever seen an unattended kid.
