Attempted kidnappings rock Pretoria

A number of attempted kidnappings of young children have been reported around Pretoria recently.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu confirmed an apparent attempted kidnapping took place on Thursday at the Checkers store in Moreleta Village, east of Pretoria.

“The mother was walking with her child, who was in a pram, in the store when she looked away for a brief moment. When she turned around, she saw a man holding her baby,” said Gumbu.

“The woman then demanded the man return her baby. He said to her she was overreacting and he was only making a joke.” he added.

Garsfontein police are investigating the incident, Rekord North reported.

In a separate incident on Thursday, a woman reported another apparent attempted kidnapping at the NG Moreleta Park church. According to the woman, who wished to stay anonymous, she and her two-year-old daughter had just walked out of the church when she turned around for a brief moment.

Wife told me about this after she saw it on Facebook.

I told her that it probably just more scare mongering BS like with the HIV infected needles in McDonalds play pits and stuff.

I guess I will apologise tonight.
 
There was also one in town iirc about a month ago where they tried to pull a kid through the open window of a car.

There was an article on here some time ago about razor blades placed in play areas..

So crazy...

Heard about one at a mall where they grabbed the kid, put a wig on and they were busy changing clothes when they found them.

I wouldn't be able to control myself, they would have to shoot me. My hands are shaking just thinking about it.

I heard that happened at East Rand Mall. Unsubstantiated though.

And when I used to frequent Facebook there was always this kidnapping story about a red headed woman who offers people money to hand over children from restaurant play areas. The text of the story was always exactly the same with only the restaurant name and location/city changed to fit specifics. Just basic scare mongering stuff.

Have you seen the pranks that one dude does on youtube in the name of social experiments?

I saw one where he chats up young girls on social media and then arrange to meet them. Only does the meet after speaking to the parents to prove to the kids how easy it is to get kidnapped and/or raped. When he picks them up or meet them in a park the folks are there too. He also does date rape drugs in drinks at bars and shyte. Scary how easy these things happen. I'll try find his channel tonight and post a link.
