Anybody got any info?
Two suspects shot dead?
Ten arrested?
Saw it on Twitter.

This looks like a case of great hit back on these miscreants.

x = number of arrested
y = number shot dead

success = is when y is greater than x

Usually it's like this....

10 cops killed
2 bakkies retrieved
14 suspects with undisclosed amount of money get away.

So I'd call this a success.

Fourteen men were arrested after they attempted to rob Emperors Palace casino, on the East Rand this morning.

Gauteng police's Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini said police at the casino received a tip-off that 19 men were going to rob the casino.
Police confronted a group of men at the entrance and a shootout ensued.

Two of the men were shot and wounded, while three others were arrested. The two were under police guard at a local hospital.
Dlamini said a stray bullet grazed the head of five-year-old girl inside the casino's hotel. She was also rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police then followed another group of five men in a car down the road from the casino. All were arrested.
He said police searched for the nine men around the hotel and casino, and arrested four more.

Three AK-47 assault rifles, four pistols and one revolver were recovered at the scene.

Three people including a child have been wounded during a shootout between police and armed robbers at Emperors Palace Casino in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, on Sunday.

Details surrounding the incident are still sketchy but eyewitnesses on the scene say a gang of around 20 people were involved in the robbery attempt.

Officials have however confirmed that two suspects have been shot and wounded including a five-year-old girl who was in the vicinity and got hit by a stray bullet.

Police are now examining the scene of the shootout and they believe there's a possibility that suspects may still be inside the casino after guns were discovered in the toilet.

The gang of men reportedly arrived this morning at the premises in an attempt to rob the casino but they didn't realise that police had received a tip-off and had been waiting for them.

Police say when the suspects spotted them, they tried to flee. The tyres of one of the two vehicles the suspects had been travelling in, was punctured as the driver smashed through the boom gate.

The would-be robbers then opened fire on police and the officers retaliated.

At least 10 suspects have so far been arrested more are on the run.

The casino has been temporarily closed to the public while detectives continue with their investigation.

Nice car the perps had, that Fortuner. Wonder if it was "borrowed" for the event?

And Emperor's Palace is close to what was formerly known as Johannesburg International Airport.

A lot of people who live on the east rand consider themselves part of greater joburg. :D

I know, but that's like Zimbabweans "considering themselves part of" SA. It doesn't change the facts...

BTW just heard on the radio they caught another 5 suspects.

19 is more like a terrorist organization. How many of them were released from the jail training camp before the incident?

They should all get life in prison and not the 15-25 yr life - life means till you die in prison with NO medical parole shyt.

Well done to SAPS

It would be nice if these criminals were tortured in jail,that would be proper jail
