ATV and iCloud app on win10

I bought ATV this weekend and now want to upload my pictures from a windows10 notebook is to iCloud so that I can view it on the ATV.

When I upload a pic via Chrome it shows on ATV, so accounts etc are correct. But I want to upload all the pics that are sorted in sub folders and don’t see a way to do it via the browser, so am trying the iCloud app.

As I understand it, I can drag and drop all my folders into the “upload” folder of the iCloud app and it should sync. However, the pics aren’t showing on ATV in the pictures app where I found the pics I originally did via the browser.

Where am I missing the trick?

An update:

All the pics uploaded to ATV but not within the folder structure I had them sorted. So I have to recreate albums on the ATV.

I was hoping that the folder structure I use on the notebook would translate into albums in the ATV as they are grouped by year and topic.

Any ideas how to do that quicker?

Pretty sure Apple Photos have their own library indexing and sorting other that the observed folder structure. You will need to import the photos..
