Audi A3 2.0T engine upgrade?

Did they change/upgrade this engine like they did with the GTI? Or are all - barring the DTM conversion - still 147kw?
 
Still 147kW according to the Audi website. The BWA motor produces 147kW at the wheels or 165kW at the fly so it's not slow at all.
 
But the VW website also never reflected wheels/fly etc - did it?
It also reflected 147kw?

Thinking maybe Audi did the same for later models
 
I'm pretty sure its 147kw at the fly, all power outputs are quoted at the fly aren't they?

And its still the 147kw motor, not the newer 155kw 350nm 2.0T.

The TT, A5, Q5 and a4 2.0T have all been been upgraded to the newer engine.

They generally are - but apparantly the Golf 5 GTI had two different engines throughout it's life (earlier was 147kw and later models 165kw) - yet VW have never quoted the later figure and stuck to 147kw since inception. I was thinking something similar could maybe have happened with the 2.0T.

I know my car is heavier and not supposed to be a performance car, but when standard (169kw) I'd be just about neck on neck with a 2.0T. I upgraded my software (185kw) and the next two I came across were fairly easy. However I came across one that sat next to me last night and since it looked bog standard on the outside, I didn't think modification.

Thuoght perhaps he had a quicker example
 
LOL Dolby there are TONS of sleepers prowling the streets...when they go into boost is when they normally give themselves away! You should HEAR the car go into boost...

It was most probably modded.
 
I came across an old Nissan sentra with the words "Optimus Prime" on the back. Haha I laughed but I laughed harder when he let rip. You know the noise trucks make when they change gear, yep that's what it sounded like when he changed gear? :D:D:D

S3, saaweeeeeeet car, 188 kW, easily pushed up to 220 kW.
S5, even sweeeter car, 250 kW, and way less **** **** factor :D.

Got those in my sights, and from what I see, they're not slow cars at all. But yeah, would never come close to any A4/S4/A3, all of them are slow for the money and have too much of the **** **** factor.

I've been telling you this for a while now, some drivers know their cars, know how to drive them.
Time to give up the Car magazine stats now, they just an indication.
I've seen many supposedly slower cars take on musch stronger cars and win...

At night different cars also perform much better, a car that's been run in nicely can also surprise you, DSG gearbox could have also been a factor...

Gtis are generally a lil quicker than the A3s even IF they both BWA engines.
 
Yea but JK8 ... A variance in performance we all agree on : an ST may beat a GTI on a certain day and vica versa.

What I've been telling you about tests, indications and variance is that a certain car cannot have a variance of 2 seconds. You cannot make you PGTI do 6 second and my neighbour 8 seconds ...

Anyhow - based on your last sentance ... You saying you did get an Audi A3 BWA with more power?

I agree but the driver may have a bigger influence than that variance on any day.
 
Your neighbour has a PGTi? Cool what year model? Does he have the Seat intake?

Does he drive it hard? ESP off? Can his legs reach the floor of the accelerator pedal? 8 seconds is to slow IMO.

I think you got beat by a DSG A3... if you didnt start in 1st, those things a monsters on the road.
 
On another topic - do you have a performance thing for you BB to measure 0-100km/h ... ?
