Got a new car yesterday (the 2009 155kW 2.0T A4, it’s awesome! :D) and I see the MMI has a Traffic Program feature that can record traffic reports at set times so they can be played back. I’m not sure if it works in South Africa though.

Anyone have any experience with this feature?

since some radio stations do transmit traffic programmes (classic fm comes to mind) then theoretically speaking it should work here. not sure how to operate that feature though.

as a matter of interest, how many km's was on your car when you bought it? price? IYDMMA, of course.

It works. ;)

Can't remember the ins and outs exactly, but it's not a timed function. Traffic reports on some stations (Classic FM and also Highveld lately) are identified as such by an RDS tag. The radio recognises this & records the traffic report in the background.

I have two timers on mine (MMI 3G), I set the timers to an hour before times I know I will be driving, eg work and back. It will then automatically record the last hour's traffic reports.

Can't wait for TMS to become available on the Audi's

Had 33000km on the clock and was going for R315k at Audi Centurion. Looks brand new though. Extra's include xenon lights, 19" wheels (I'm going to cry when those needs replacing :D), sunroof, sports suspension, sports seats and tow bar. Pretty good deal in my opinion.

Here's a pic of the car the day before I picked it up:

Do you know on which radio stations this works? I've also got the timers on mine but haven't been able to get it to work yet.

I have my tuner almost permanently set to 94.7.

I will have a look and see if their are other settings I can't remember about now.

Thanks, mine is working as well now.

All I had to do was switch on the Traffic Program option in the MMI and then leave the radio on a station that supports this (for example Highveld). I think Classical FM supports it as well.
