Hi all,

I took the Audi for a mid-service oil change yesterday at a reputable indie. I found out afterwards that he put in a fully synthetic 5w40 oil that only conforms to VW502.00 & 505.00. However, the oil spec for the PD TDi engines is VW505.01

Can I run the car until the full service (7000km/4months) on the 505.00 or should I change the oil asap to the correct spec?

My personal opinion is to change the oil. Oil is not that expensive. Compared to the peace of mind you could have.

I'd change that. Personal choice liquimoly top tec 4200.

Change. A full oil change with 505.01 spec oil is still cheaper than your car's injector cam.
