Hi.

Basically, what seems to be happening, is whenever my HD is 'working', there's a brief audio drop out.

I can't really figure out what's going on.

It's not a very fast PC, but it should not struggle like it is.

I just reinstalled, first off (Win7 64).

Soundcard is this:

CPU is an E8400, 4 gigs of RAM and a 560GTX-ti.

The main culprit is probably the FW interface I am using (****ty, cheap VIA), and I will get a recommended one when I have the 700 bucks it will cost.

In the meantime, I'm looking for any advice to minimize this issue!

I have glitching audio issues with my Asus Xonar U3 sound card when my Windows theme is using the basic theme for some reason.

Do you get the issue when playing FLAC/MP3 or when playing videos that use AC3 codecs?

I think I've only noticed it if I am playing music, and then it glitches while a game is loading, or within my music software when the drive is working in tandem on something else (or loading a big library).

Haven't noticed it in videos, but that's because if I am watching a video, that's all I am doing.

That's weird about the theme...

Perhaps change the output audio buffer size (and perhaps the input file buffer size too) in your audio player, because it sounds to me like a CPU or other I/O problem.

Also, have you tried using a different audio player?

I have tried changing the buffer, yes.

No difference.

It happens, I just noticed, with sounds coming from just about any source.

This is a weird, and annoying issue.
