Hello people,
I have noticed a significant decrease in the quality and performance of my ADSL (512) connection since August 1.
In July everything seemed to be ok, no crashes, no disconnections and speed was more or less constant, although I rarely (if ever) actually got the 512 I am paying for because, as you all know, Telkom provides the service on a "best efforts" basis.
However, since the begining of this month, I have had severe problems with my connection, it is very very sluggish, speed is nowhere near the 400-500 range and sometimes it drops as low as dial-up. I get constant disconnections and whenever I try to download software patches or updates, the download rates are effectively closer to dial-up than to an adsl connection.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?
Does anyone think that there is a parallel between the drop in prices and the drop in quality/performance or actual bandwidth?
Anyone has any ideas how to deal with or hopefuly solve this problem?
Your views, comments and suggestions will be appreciated!
Cheers!
