Hi,

Does anyone know whether Telkom would have to announce the changes re: the local cap before implementing them in August? And how far in advance you'd expect the announcement to come? I'd really hate to find myself limited to 3GB in August when I could have cancelled in July and switched to an wireless solution.

Thank you

AFAIK they WILL implement the local capping and decrease prices as of 1August.

*flicks gecko-pooh out of keyboard*.. Dam geckos...

Anyway where was I? :p
I recall they having it announced already. Browse through the mybroadband section, you should find it in one of the news articles

That wasn't really an announcement. It was just a "by the by" sort of thing in an article that most people wouldn't read. Surely if Telkom are going to change the terms of their contract with the consumer they would have to send out a notice with the phone bill, or send us an E-mail, or something?

this is south africa... this is telkom... send a email to their paying client!!!??? are u mad! :) there is a reason why there is such a thing as hellkom.co.za

AFAIK they will NOT have local cap any time soon!

Also, which wireless you plan getting? Because if it is iBurst, I have to tell you that I cancelled mine just few weeks ago and now I am on ADSL, and they are uncomparable! ADSL is reliable, fast and stable internet connection, iBurst is highly restricted in terms of what you can use it for (only HTTP and FTP works sort of properly), unreliable and quite expensive, support is nonexistent, so I would not recommend it to anyone!
