Australia has violent crime !

Now I want to see what people are going to say about violent crime and (South) Africa. Look,is happening in Australia too :D One might argue about this been a isolated incident but nevertheless, it happened.

Must be the Boertjies causing sh|t in Oz after too many imported Castles - they are Africans after all, aren't they ?

People, let's not get all exited. The fact of the matter is the Australian police FAILED to prevent the impeding violent crime! People got hurt/stabbed. Just as in South Africa. But unlike South Africa, the Australians are not making a big fuss about it.

It sounds like just an ordinary pub brawl down under LOL.
Perhaps the fight was toned down as all the contestants said that they wanted world peace :)

Mark "Chopper" Reed was a violent gangster in Aus back in the 70s. He is also Australia's biggest selling author, despite being illiterate! He got his nickname from chopping off his ears while in jail. If you can, get hold of the movie "Chopper", I can highly recommend it.

"Adelaide's African community" really?

Pub fights are big in Auz, it usually makes headlines cause that is their "violent" crime, like we have murders every day, they have pub fights, not as many pub fights there as murders here though

There has been violent crime and tension brewing in Oz for ages... and no its not the Saffers.

A lot of people are immigrating to Oz and not everyone is happy about it.

As much as I dislike the Aussies (for Rugby & Cricket reasons).. they are still a civilized & generous nation
That schit can happen anywhere... the problem is when it happens all the time... like in townships here and illegal foreigner dwellings ;)

They would if it happened even half as much as it does here. Pfft...half. What am I saying? A tenth!

Every country in the world has violent crime....

Its just the frequency of the violent crime that makes the difference. Here violent crime will make the news, newspapers and radio. In SA there is not enough bandwidth and paper to do that....

Happens everywhere, sport. The difference is in the quantity, quality and frequency of incidents, the harm done and the success rate of law and order agencies in apprehending the perpetrators.

In a recent incident in Australia, probably not reported internationally, a man in a balaclava tried to hold up a suburban supermarket with a large knife. As he was trying to run away after the person at the checkout told him what he could do with his knife, two pensioners rammed him with an empty shopping trolley, and then bounced the trolley on him until the police arrived in short order. Casualties: one pensioner scratched with the knife and a wannabe in hospital under police guard with cracked ribs. No AK47s in sight; no armed response needed.

Typically thousands of old people like these, and Australia - like most developed countries - has an ageing population, live in the sprawling suburbs of Australian cities with no more security than a small dog. They leave their doors open during the day; their windows open at night. Many do not have window locks, the only barrier being a fly screen. Muggings are rare apart from known druggo haunts in the larger cities. Burglaries do occur, but only when no one is home and the neighbours are away. Usually the only things taken are small valuables and cash.

Need I go on ...

I am going to quote from a previous post of mine:

http://www.ocsar.sa.gov.au/publications_statistics.html (Report entitled Crime and Justice in South Australia, 2006. Offences reported to Police, the Victims and Alleged Perpetrators)

South African Homicides in 2005/2006: 18,528
Australian Homicides in 2006: 67

South African Sexual Offences in 2005/2006: 68,076
Australian Sexual Offences in 2006: 2,232

Please tell me where I am in more danger.

I am leaving for Australia in January 2011. We are setting up a new business that side. We could not get investment in SA because we are white. We are taking over a pretty large sum of money to get the business started that side. Pity, we could have created jobs but our skin colour continuously works against us. So much for economic freedom.

Their violent nature is mostly evident in the cricket team.Everytime they come here the proteas get brutally slain in the ODI's
