Authentication problems, High Ping and Latency

Also having problems with Authenticating, countless times I gotten Error 691: Access denied messages and next minute it works fine. This is happened many times.

I've been experiencing the same problem since last week.
 
Stupid 691 errors coming up like mad today!It usually helps to get the horrible latency down in online games by disconnecting an reconnecting a few times, now its just impossible to do that.
So this new systems means I'm stuck with my k@k latency?Common Iburst give me a break!!
As soon as I get a salary I'm going adsl!!!

Hi all

We noticed a large amount of simultaneous vendor updates and patches to akamei. We are investigating this traffic.

Should all be back to normal.

Let me know if anyone is still experiencing any latency issues.


Regarding the error 691 issue. We have had to limit the amount of connections being thrown at the authenticating servers due to the fact that some users were continually doing disconnects and reconnects at a high rate (up to 83000 times a day). This is an abnormal amount of authentication for a client and is profiled as a DOS attack.

We need to keep the system running at an acceptable level for your use and cannot allow this to continue.

I hope you all understand and should anyone feel this is unsatisfactory please give me a call.

I don't want to connect and reconnect 83000 times a day! 5-10 times would work, just to get my latency down in online games, or tell me what I need to do to get it as low as possible, without having to pay ANOTHER R70 to get IGame. Why can't we get IGame for free, what other ISP is charging their customers extra to get a low latency in online games!!!

I'm based in JHB on the south of Northcliff Hill. The server is a local server on SAIX's network but the latency between the server and your network is only 40ms - the rest of the latency is between your network core and my CPE.

Oh you're not alone.....but this is so regular I guess most people have gotten used to it.

3000ms WoW pings for me tonight :/
 
I phoned them just now again, seems like their is lots of packet loss to international and they looking into it.

Same but I cant use Ventrillo as its breaking up so bad and cant login my main in dalaran with the latency as I just get booted off. What a good evening......

I am getting between 2500 and 3100 ms latency to wow from Edenvale. This just sucks I discontinued my vodacom 3G contract to get IBurst for wow gaming did I make a mistake ?

There was an issue yesterday with international latencies on an upstream providers link for which a call was escalated to said provider.

The issue with the displayed latencies is on level3.net which is a secondary upstream from us.

Apologies for that.


Seems like all is sorted.
