I wonder if you could help with a very quick question.
My wife had an accident at low speed late last year, it broke off the
front right wheel, but we thought the engine was OK.
Now the gearbox is not working properly - often it won't select a gear
and you have to put it into park, then back to drive and even turn the
engine off before it will engage. Once it gets up to speed it's okay
ish.
The insurance company say that they think this might be unconnected
with the accident. I can't see how this is possible - it was OK before
the accident (and I had it serviced at the right time - and even had
some judder fixed), but after the accident it is broken. So I can't
see it being anything but the accident.
What do you think? Can a low-speed accident cause this damage to an
Audi A4 from around 2000??
How would it be possible to prove it either way?
