Auto Connect

Hi all.

I was just wondering if there is an option in WinXP Pro for the ADSL conn to auto connect at windows startup. Using USB Marconi POTS Modem and have already tried shortcutting the dun link to the startup folder. I know there are progs out there for this purpose but was wondering if there's an option like this in windows.

If you set the connection up as your default connection under internet explorer and you set it to automatically connect, then it should start dialing as soon as something tries to access the internet.

Why must it specifically auto-dial on startup? Maybe try run a ping command at startup?

Hi zerofocus. It was for a client of mine. I did exactly that but just wanted to make it connect on startup. Thought MS would have had a feature like that. Will try a ping on startup and see if it connects. Thanks for the help.
