Hi all,

I'm getting a whining noise from the front of my Nissan Tiida when in drive,

Who can you recommend to diagnose the fault and provide a honest affordable service in the Randburg area?

Thanks

Come on dude you just bought the car less than a week, it's already making funny noise. Take back to the garage demand your money back and get Honda Jazz.

A colleague was stressing about a whining noise which he thought was coming from his auto box on a Corolla, turns out it was a belt tensioner bearing that was gone, Toyota did not let him off lightly, he was also told about the belt that has apparently been stretched due to the faulty tensioner. More than R4000 in total he had to part with to fix the issue.

Maybe just check if the noise is really coming from the gearbox. You can also Google any gearbox place in Randburg, there must be a couple in Strydompark alone.

What's up with you these days? A new personality to go with the username? You know very well that OP bought a used car, it is expected that a few issues here and there should be expected on a used car, who says a Jazz would not have issues?

Don't mean to be rude but a car bought less than a week, already giving problems he should take it back. The garage should fix those little issues with the car.

It's sad to buy a car on a tight budget while still enjoying your new wheels. Then it need to be fix meaning more money out of your pocket.

It's also quite ironic that the Honda Jazz is notorious for getting a whine on the CVT gearboxes.

So probably even more likely to happen in a Jazz than most other cars.

Bought from private seller so no recourse... Wish I could find a jazz in my budget

I have googled and see many options but looking for a reference from someone who has used one of them and can recommend them to me

How bad is the noise, why didn't you pick it up when you test drive it?

It may also be those good ol new car nerves, every little whine or clatter sounds like the engine is about to explode or the suspension about to drop onto the floor..

I'd first Google the hell out of the issue, find other Nissan models that also use the same gearbox, could easily just be that it needs a gearbox fluid change and/or gearbox filter.

Also how sure are you that it's the gearbox and not something else making the noise, does the gearbox have any other signs of not being so hawt?

That's exactly why I need an honest gearbox specialist who will tell me if the issue is not so serious

I've got 3 opinions now that the noise is gearbox related including Nissan themselves

Fsks, what's the point of offering help if you don't bother to give feedback when it's offered??

Then read again because you skipped a few things.

I hate trying to help morons, my gearbox whines boohoohoo, ok what else is the gearbox doing that would make you think it's faulty? Radio silence.

You are being that guy who wants to save money without actually doing any legwork, read my reply again and follow it. Or alternatively stop whining like your gearbox and take the car to Nissan/whoever and just cough up the money, like a lamb to the slaughter :crylaugh:

Hi airborne

Thanks but I don't need advice from such an arrogant human being

You can keep your cheap advice to yourself and I hope you don't find yourself in my situation one day
