Hey,

So a collague showed me an international news app they visit frequently on their iPad. I cant remember now what it was, but they proceeded to show me the app but had to "sync" the content in the app so it updates news articles and shows the latest. They literally had to select a menu item and then select which categories to sync and refresh content.

I was like huh...why do you have to do that? News24's App automatically syncs/refreshes content as soon as the app opens.

So my question is, why are some apps designed like this? You have to manually refresh the content...worst part if this colleague thought that was normal

Am I missing something here?

One big reason would be to keep data usage low
