Our garage door randomly goes open about once every 3 months. Obvious issue would be a neighbour's remote that matches somehow. But I did the "erase all" and verified that our 2 remotes stopped working. Then bought 2 new remotes and paired them only. A few months later, door suddenly opened. What could cause this? It's a Digi Door II

Probably an electrical short somewhere in the system. If it persists you should do a callout and get it looked at.

Someone's remote is also coded with your garage's receiver.

Are you in a complex/estate?
If yes, there you go.
If not, have yours reprogrammed.

We had one of those openers also and they are absolute kak, same issue, we had to lock it every night on the pedestrian switch, which of course was very annoying when you wanted to come back in that way and realise you were effectively locked out.

Ants and bugs nesting in the unit. Dirty circuit boards that short out when the humidity is high.
Loose wiring.

A bad joint somewhere in the wiring.

+1.

Had exactly the same with a Centurion D5 gate motor, opening randomly at all hours of the day. Was a huge security risk.

I opened up the motor housing and found ants nesting inside. Cleaned it out and immediately the random openings stopped. Controlled further nesting with Blue Death and also regularly opened the motor housing to check for attempts of new nesting.

As an added security measure I set the gate to auto close after 15 seconds - More than enough time to drive in or out after opening the gate.

Hi, I have the same issue with Digidoor II. For years now I open it via the wall switch. Was thinking of putting a wifi switch in, which technically would work, but would need to disable remote receiver. Not sure how to do this as I dont want to mess around too much.
