Automatic MP3 organisation/renaming (for XBMC)

Surprised to hear this. I use it several times a a month to catalogue FLAC. The only issue I have ever had is that the server is busy from time to time and it takes a few tries to find a match, like two or three tries.
Thats basically it. It was hit and miss most times. Some times it wouldnt find anything, or scrape the correct info.

I've got a folder with 3000 MP3 files. I'll just rename them manually, those that need renaming, and get something that will derive the tag info from the filenames to update the tags.

Picard can do this on its own using 'fingerprinting' (basically Shazam) for untagged files. Rename them yourself if you like but there is an excellent and free solution to your problem.

A few posts up I said that it doesn't work. Anyway, it's not the end of the world.

I saw that, and I said that it definitely does work as I use it with some regularity.

When the servers are busy you might have to try a couple of times.

I have half a terabyte of lossless audio that I have catalogued with Picard and nothing else. I'm fairly certain that I haven't imagined that.
