Automatic updates and firewall disabled icon

This is a very simple question but I just cant seem to get it to work. How do I disable the little red shield icon that warns that auto updates and firewall is disabled. I seen to get it to disappear but it returns after restarting-apart from enabling them. Thanks.

Hi, click on it to open the security center.

Look at the left hand side of the window, there is text, it actually looks like normal text, click on the one that is relevant and turn security notifications off etc. It looks like google search links if you look closely

Aternative:-
Open the "control panel", then open the "security center".
In the bottom left hand coner click " Change the way the security center alerts me", choose the 3rd/bottom option.
