Just want to find out what people are using to backup cisco router and switch configs.

We have 125 routers and 180 switches on the network, and looking to back them up automatically.
(Power failures have killed quite a few over the last few months and no backup of configs, not to hectic to re-config from scratch, just want to save some time)

I have read Rancid is the way to go, any other recommendations perhaps? (Does not have to be free)

Rancid is ok, you can use SVN for repositories and put in change notices and diff's

Otherwise cisco prime infrastructure works ok, slightly expensive.

Rancid is the simplest and one of the best solutions out there and it's supports more than just Cisco routers, couple Rancid with SVN for change control and Tacacs for SSO across your devices and you are good to go.

I use Rancid and WebSVN at home, works like a charm on all my Cisco kit (Routers, switch and two aironets).

At work we use Solarwinds, also works really well, and has very nice niche features as well as really useful ones. Probably the easiest to set up, configure and maintain.

Lastly I used to use the routerconfigs plugin for cacti, which also worked without fail. I not sure how well this will scale though.
