For those who also got the info sheet from Autopage on MTN's new rates as of today. I would understand if you almost died. I called Autopage. It is in rand/second. You would have to 60x it to get to the Rand/minute rates that we are all used to. They even showed the sms costs in seconds. How can anyone be so stupid.... and this is coming from the company who is supposed to be able to explain things to you. What service do they provide other than giving more work to the heart surgeons in SA?

ROFL, I am laughing non-stop... please make it stop.. lol..... Autopage finds a way to mess someting up every day. lol
Thats why I am now Nashua

NASHUA!?

No way dude, probably even worse! They actually charged me for SMS-reports, even though CellC doesn't. Imagine sending 60 SMSes and paying for 120? And no, it wasn't published/specified anywhere - I found this out after phoning them.

Furthermore, I always had problems viewing my account information such as free minutes on CellC's website (NM doesn't have such a facility). Everything would just say zero. And everytime I phoned CC, I was told: "Sorry, your accounts are held by NM, we can't do anything" and NM told me "sorry, its a fault on CellC's side, we can't do anything".

Lastly, their offers on packages and the likes just never come close to anything else, me thinks!

They are all crap if you ask me. It is a matter of competition. Why would they bother if you are contractually bound. Number portability will sort all of this out.

I have a Vodacom contract with Nashua and I do NOT get charged for SMS Delivery Reports. Nashua Mobile in my opinion does operate faster, after knowing the background of Autopage (my family runs a branch) I prefer to just go Nashua or direct.

Thats because Vodacom doesn't charge for it

I cannot believe that it is possible to get worse than the Autopage/MTN combo that I am blessed with.

Their so called itemised billing for data is in "units". Nobody can explain what a unit is, but it seems that it was intended to be 1Mb. In reality it varies between about 300kb and 1.5Mb

Does anyone have any info on when we can expect number portabilty?

Nashua Mobile told me end of this year, but I would also go with July next year.

I intended to do the same (that is, move away from NM and CellC to Vodacom/MTN while keeping my number), but after my phone was stolen it was just easier and cheaper to 'purchase' a new phone by taking out a contract at Vodacom. This also gives me about a year to let everyone and everybody know about my new number.

Lets hope that goes well! I rather like Nashua so I wont move just yet.

You better believe Autopage can. Even without MTN they are the worst company in SA - as a team .... words fail me

Nashua SUCKS... they had a phone of mine for a month and a half while they "looked for spares"... they returned it after I complained on hellopeter... they eventually claimed water damage and not economically repairable. Now instead of intermittent problems, it just wont recognise the sim at all... so... if water damage, then why wait for spares? Never use them again.

Thank G*d I'm with MTNsp. Seems like the best of a bad bunch, then.

My families contracts:
Thats my immediate family...

Vodacom/Nashua < Me
Vodacom/VSP
Vodacom/Autopage
Vodacom/VSP
Cell C/Autopage
MTN/MTNsp
MTN/Autopage
MTN/Autopage

Conculsion:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I AM THE ONLY PERSON AT NASHUA!!!!!

Well EdRobinson I wasnt aware that NM held the warranties for the handsets I thought that they were held by the handset manufactures.....??? So I wud assume that they (manufactures) were waiting for parts... ..
