Autopatcher

hmmm... does anybody here have a complete downloaded autopatcher?
 
Yeah, Micro$oft sued his ass and he is not allowed to release any more autopatcher updates.
 
The last complete AutoPatcher I have is August 2007 (Pre XP SP3)

I have already downloaded this newer version and am going to try to grab all the updates since XP SP3.

I love AutoPatcher... it makes re-formatting much much easier.
 
If you check the dates of the articles on the site, the earliest one is 31st March.
 
for all the sue his ass comments, try Current Releases left hand bottom pane and you will find that latest release is august 2008 - hence the thread... :rolleyes:

Which is not allowed to be released because he was ordered to stop. Just think about it. The page has not been updated in a long time.

afaik the difference is that the actual patch is now downloaded from the MS server. (can't read article...capped:()

Correct, You download APUP (700kb, which downloads all the patches/updates directly from microsoft, once complete, you get the same old AutoPatcher interface to choose which updates/tweaks you want to install.

...and can we then burn that folder to a CD?

Cool. Thanks for the news. I really enjoyed using Autopatcher in the past and was really disappointed when they closed down/stopped providing the updates.
 
I wonder what will happen if I put this new AutoPatcher Downloader into the Folder from the Agust 2007 release? Will it see all of the old Updates there already and not re-download them? I'm gonna try it.

it will downgrade your pc back to August 2007 :eek::eek::D
 
OK, so I downloaded all the newest Updates last night.

I now have a working XP AutoPatcher (post SP3)

all the updates since XP SP3 and IE7

I excluded those two... since most people already have SP3... and because it is STRONGLY advised that you update to IE7 before loading SP3 (to avoid problems after SP3).

So if anyone wants I have all of the following in the new AutoPatcher...

1) Critical Updates since XP SP3
2) non-critical updates since XP SP3
3) Windows add-ons
4) WGA (does not have to be installed)
5) AutoPatcher Recommended add-ons
6) AutoPatcher Registry Fixes and Tweaks

Works fine on XP pro... tested it last night.

Total is less than 700 Mb (will fit on one CD).
