I have a really bad habit of continually checking sites like Auto Trader and Gumtree on an almost daily basis. I say bad because I always search for cars, bikes and dbl cabs I like and because of this I have had about 8 different vehicles in the last 4 or so years... But not my point for this post.

I browsed over to www.autotrader.co.za this morning to have a look for a certain Double Cab I am itching for (wife is gonna kill me) and the whole site and search system has changed. It's a bit like a nicer version of carfind's system. Tbh, I can't decide if I like it or not, it's been a long time coming but I'm so used to the old version this one just feels weird.... Dammit, does this mean I really am getting old and stuck in my ways? lol.

So anyways, what are your opinions on the new site?

As of right now, I can't say I like it at all myself. I kinda prefer the previous site. Maybe it will grow on me.
 
Was pleasantly surprised by it this morning, no really, I mean pleasantly.
 
I also have to get used to it... Not to my liking at this stage, but sure I'll get used to it.
 
I also like the idea that on the main page, when you select a make, it tells you how much of each model they have on their site in that make......
 
Am I blind, or do the prices not show up on search results? They only show up after selecting a vehicle. If it's not just me, then that's a major FAIL.
 
For sure, it definitely has some nice features and is probably much better and I'll probably like it... just need to get used to it. lol.

@Duglash, cheers for the links.... must be some or other odd addiction we have, lol.

Yep, that and always wanting something better... eish. Need / want a new car asap... :D

Are you using Firefox and adblock?
I also couldnt see it until I turned off adblock.

I dont like the new site yet.
The older one was simpler to navigate.

Cool thanks for the tip. That's weird seeing that it appears to be plain text.
 
I like the crispness of the look. I did find a problem yesterday when localising a search I had to set the 'range' to 500km from Pretoria to get hits of vehicles that where in Pretoria (I didn't know Pretoria was that beeeeg! :p )
 
I really dig this new site. the last one was infuriating. Just one thing when you press back it should keep all the search criteria and not start a new. Gumtree have seemed to get this right. +10 anyways
 
I like it, esp the quick search function

@friggs, I know the feeling...I also check it constantly even though I agreed with myself I will keep my cars for a few years just to stop wasting money for a bit. Just gone through a stretch in 2010 where I had 4 diff cars in 12 months
