Hi all

What is the best way of splitting an AV signal from my DSTV decoder to my TV and DVD/VCR without signal loss and spending too many rands?

Thanks and all

Don

3 x RCA 1-2 splitters and 1 x 3-3 RCA cable. Done and dusted. Most places like Dion wired, Stax, Game etc etc should stock them.

You can just split the AV but you do lose a little quality- the pic loses some brightness and contrast, but stays clear and clean.

An alternative is to get a SCART to AV adapter and use SCART output if you have a decoder with SCART output (most have)
Note: SCART out will be fixed audio, not variable. Good for VCR. Who still uses a VCR anyway??:D

Can't have your cake and eat it. To avoid signal loss you'll need signal amp.

Thats overkill though. Go with what MadMailMan said & accept a slight loss. You can always boost brightness & contrast on the TV again.

Most VCRs also have an output though to avoid this whole mess. That means the TV has to be set to AV all the time though.
