I loaded Avast on my Galaxy Tab a week ago from the google play store, but am worried it was a fake version and is capturing all my info and passwords, even tho it looks like it was the correct one.. Does anyone know if there has ever been a fake avast on the market, since there has been some fake apps before loaded with malware on the market.. If one ever got malware, how would one remove it, would a factory reset be necessary and having to load all from scratch? How is everyone else keeping their android devices safe?

What makes you think it is fake? Pretty sure it would have made news somewhere if there was a fake avast in the market.

This should help you to detect concerns: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appspot.swisscodemonkeys.detector&hl=en

/what passwords are you worried about btw? If you are worried about your google/gmail account check out 2-step verification: http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=180744

Just my paranoia about thinking its fake, would just like a way to know 100% its not, eventhough when i go to the app store, and list apps installed, it only lists the avast with 50000+ reviews, so surely this verifies its the correct app.

I have heard that the 2-step verification causes problems when used with BIS

But there's no BIS for Android. Are you using 2 phones with the same gmail account?

Yes, i know there is no BIS on android. I have a blackberry that i use my gmail account on, and when using 2 step verification, it doesnt work when i set it for BIS. I also use my gmail account on my Galaxy Tab 10.1.. So how does one verify the correct apps are loaded

From what I've seen, you should only need to go here https://accounts.google.com/b/0/IssuedAuthSubTokens?hl=en
and click on "generate password" to create a password just for the device you want to receive mail on.
The fact that you're using it over BIS should not matter.
